DIY SOLAR LAMP

Thiss week im working for a project with solar panel. Small project but very useful to aply in small village that have no elecricity. My project is called solar powered LED inside litter of light. Since low production cost to build this product, people in urban village can build this by their self.

The main idea is atach solar panel above the bottle that we use to diffuse light from the sun into dark room. In day the sun light pass the bottle filled by water and then diffuse it to all side of room. In the night there are no light from sun, so the led inside bottle will lit and it works as lamp.

I use a solar panel to harvesting energy from sun. During sun light solar panel arbsorb the foton energy and then convert it into electric current thar flow and recharge the battry. In the night, battry charge the superbright LED to emmit light.

Start from design, we need to atach solar panel above the bottle. Reinforcement is needed to handle solarpanel and hold this into sun position. Luckyly i live in country wich sun shine every day. In normal day my solar panel can charge the battry untill full.

To perform the switching, we use a PNP transistor that is controlled by the voltage output from the solar panel. When it’s sunny, the output of the panel is high, which turns off the transistor, but when it gets dark, the transistor lets current flow to our yellow LED. This circuit works very well and is a joy to use– it would make a good upgrade to the dark detecting pumpkin to make it go solar with this circuit.

Solar panel shell made from sheet metal. It bend at four side to protect solar phanel. There is a PVC pipe that modified so fit to botle head. This PVC holder perform as solar panel stand and also battry and circuit container.

This product can give light 4-7 hour for a daya charging.
